Retinal Detachment Series

This collection goes through the progression of my healing process after being diagnosed with a retinal detachment May of 2025. These abstract paintings are based off of my medical photos captured by the Ophthalmologist. Medically, the top layer of the smile is supposed to be in line with the bottom layer. The colors utilized in each painting is associated with the feelings I was expressing at the time. Retinal Detachment 1 is when I was first notified of this issue to Retinal Detachment 4 as the latest photo. Even though this situation is not ideal, I have found beauty in the lines that portray my eyes as improving.
